The Alderfers
Last month, our church had a Harvest of Talents to support IDES, an organization that provides emergency services to the hurting all around the world and that recently facilitated our aid to Joplin. The idea was for our church members to donate goods and services to be auctioned off. In total, we raised over $17,000. My friends, The Alderfers, won the bidding for my photography package, so we got together yesterday to get some fall shots. The boys needed absolutely no direction from me, and the whole family could not have been more adorable.

The Great Exchange Concert and Open House
Nathan and I organized our first big Greentree event this month: a concert and open house with The Great Exchange (Look for a new album to come out this year!). We planned for a cozy, coffee house feel with couches, board games, videos, an art gallery, sandwich and dessert buffets, and ultimately, communion and worship. It was a total success, but not without the help of our dear friends. Specifically, our chef friend, Vince, gets the credit for the amazing kettle chips the crowd went nuts over and the yummy fresh-baked rolls for our sandwich buffet; Molly indulged us with gourmet cupcakes; Jess and Ben spent hours making labels, wood cuts, and a prayer tree; numerous others pitched in before and after.
I'm so, so glad I'm a part of this church family.
