Mrs. Spooner (uh huh..."Pam" as she says I can call her now) was my sixth grade teacher, and last year I was lucky to teach with her. She is a beautiful example inside and out, and her stunning girls are following suit. Here are just a few of many gorgeous shots from tonight. Such a happy summer evening!

Remembering Betty

Today we said goodbye to sweet Betty Harris - Betty who cooked her sons and their friends (Nathan included) midnight snacks of steak and potatoes and who never missed celebrating a special occasion with us. These are two moments that I will always remember:

and surrounded by her girls

It's no secret that I love photography as an art form, but more than that, I love photography for the stories it uncovers. This is a woman Nathan and I were honored to meet when we went to Joplin. She has survived two tornadoes (each destroying her home), buried two husbands, and suffered two bouts of cancer. 

We made a small dent in her debris; she made a huge impression on our hearts.

We stopped by this itsy bitsy Zeda's party on Sunday. I only took my camera out at the end, but she and Luke had no problem turning on the cute.
